Energy Modelling in Industry Training | 2011 Training |Seminar

Energy Modelling in Industry

Objective

Due to globalisation and climate constraints, industry is experiencing and will continue to experience major structural upheaval on a geographical as well as economic and technological level.

This leads to erratic energy trajectories that are hard to predict. How should the different industrial energy demand projections be read? How should the relevance of the different GHG allowance allocation proposals be assessed? Is it best to create one’s own predictive model in order to see clearly, and if so, how? Enerdata uses its expertise and experience to provide a better understanding of the universe of modelling and industry-related energy predictions.

After the training, the participant will be able to:
  • Understand the differences in models & methodologies used by the industry
  • Assess the main drivers and parameters of energy modelling in industry
  • Interprate correctly forecasts from other organisations

Who will benefit

This session is intended for professionnals who need to make his own energy forecasts or to know how other organisations elaborate their forecasts.
  • Energy agencies
  • TSOs
  • Ministries
  • Industrial federations and heavy industries impacted by the ETS
  • Energy Industries & Equipment suppliers

Prerequisites

Participants should have completed the training ‘Initiation to energy modelling’. Or they must have a good knowledge in energy modelling. A good understanding of economics and the energy sector is also recommended.

Teaching method

The seminar will be led by recognized experts in the field of energy modelling and forecasting. The sessions will rely on case studies and interaction among the participants, and it will also include other quality support materials.
